The backyard of this townhouse was an empty space without any landscape elements. Putting river rock through the middle separated the area into 2 distinct rooms for lounging and dining while along with a fountain, creating an illusion of a water feature. Sounds of water further muffle the outside traffic noise. Use of large stones made space seem bigger picking up a clean contemporary look. The acrylic screen panels were designed to hide adjacent multistory apartment building. Wood screens further bring colour and privacy. Lastly, river rock around the perimeter ties the existing and new trees on the site. Sander Design took this blank canvas of a yard and made into an exceptional outdoor retreat.
