urban deck

Location
Midtown, Toronto

This project was challenging in that the deck had to fit in a tight space between the garage and the property line. The deck space was optimized by cascading it down in levels that fit within the tight configuration of the space. It also gave the overall deck experience a feeling of floating down to grade in a graceful manner. The vertical wood horizontal slatting used on the vertical screens on the deck, house wall, on the ground as well as on the shed gave a unifying element to the design and helped define the overall outdoor room experience. Designer stain colours were used on the wood to add life to the design and accentuate this modern look.
