This small garden was overgrown and neglected. The client when moved in, wanted a more usable outdoor space for themselves and their two children. The landscape was dug up and expanded with a lot of old planting taken out. Instead the perimeter was enhanced with corten planters featuring Japanese hakone grass and cedar screens for privacy. Stone patio is defined by the columnar beech trees at the corners to make it feel more like a courtyard. Access to the existing shed was greatly improved with new stone steps and framed by Japanese maple and service berry trees.
