Zen Garden

The yard was just a plot of grass initially and the client’s desire was a design that picks up Japanese Zen garden sensibilities. Large area with gravel created a simple Zen space with a rock fountain feature. The use of small deck off the back patio breaks up the space in two and creates an additional outdoor dining area. The trellis screens were used to anchor the space and pull together the old fence behind them. Charcoal colour unified the yard and further picked up the Zen look. Planting accentuated the space and softened the strong geometric lines for a tranquil outdoor experience.
